Banff and Canmore will close a portion of their downtown core to vehicle traffic this summer to allow for pedestrian physical distancing. Banff closed the 100 and 200 blocks of Banff Avenue and a portion of Caribou Street. The closure will run from June 5th to September 11th. Canmore has closed Sixth Avenue to Eighth Avenue for the summer.
Banff National Park reopened at the beginning of June and is welcoming back visitors but with restrictions. Before venturing out, review the available services, area closures & restricted activities set out by Banff National Park.
Kananaskis Country campgrounds are now open and are welcoming Alberta residents only for the camping season. However, the protective measures and regulations in place for Kananaskis Country and all Alberta Parks campgrounds should be reviewed before setting out.
